Description

As a fashion designer and facilitator at Nawiri Experiences, I am inspired by the rich cultural heritage of Africa and the desire to decolonize the African mind. My passion lies in creating unique and meaningful textile designs that tell stories and evoke emotions. My designs are characterized by bold, vibrant colors and intricate flow of patterns that are inspired by the major transitions of life, such as birth, initiation, unions, and death. Africans have symbols that have been used throughout history to mark important moments in the lives of individuals and communities, and I strive to bring them back to life in my designs. My ultimate goal is to create patterns that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also meaningful and educational. Each edge is different and unique from the other, showcasing just how Africa’s beauty lies in the diversity of its people and land. This design is carefully crafted to tell a story and to educate people about the rich cultural heritage of Africa. The use of symbols, motifs, and intricate designs is an expression of my love for African culture and my desire to preserve its legacy for future generations.
